As part of the development of a new Defence forward operating base on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Expand Group Plumbing & Gas was engaged to deliver specialist plumbing and gas services to support the modular facilities and airfield support infrastructure. Our scope focused on providing reliable, compliant services in a highly remote marine environment. Working within Defence security, WHS and environmental requirements, our team coordinated closely with the principal contractor and on-island stakeholders to sequence works around strict logistics and access constraints.
As part of this project, we contributed to the construction and serviceability of the onsite facilities by delivering essential plumbing and gas infrastructure that underpins the base’s operational capability. This included potable water reticulation to amenities and support buildings, fire and hydrant services, sewer and wastewater connections, stormwater drainage, and gas reticulation to facilities. All works were designed and installed to integrate with existing island infrastructure and meet stringent Defence standards.
