Alec Sharland is the Working Director of Expand Group Emergency Plumbing and Gas. He has a solid understanding of Australian codes and standards across plumbing, building and construction industries as well as the mining and resources industries. He takes personal satisfaction in producing exceptional quality and safe work, while also mentoring the next generation of plumbers, training them to uphold the same high level of quality work and safety standards he personifies. With over 20 years of experience working in the plumbing, building, construction and mining industries – as well as extensive experience trained in emergency response and management, including firefighting, road crash rescue, USAR, hazmat, confined space rescue, rope rescue, first responder.
Alec’s work experience throughout his career has taken him all across Australia, to some of the most remote parts. He has worked on critical infrastructure such as installing waste water and water treatment plants, fire pumps and systems, installation of sewerage pump s and transfer stations. Recently, Alec has led the Expand Group to work in a remote territory of WA with major clients such as Royal Australian Air Force, government authorities, hospitals and schools. These projects have included upgrading and installing major hydraulic infrastructure, dental clinic refurbishments and construction of residential and commercial buildings.
